LEADER: Master Narsimha (Spencer Johnson), born Spencer Andrew Johnson in Santa Rosa, CA, began questioning existence at a young age. When he was 9 years old he experienced a lucid dream. The dream had a very powerful impact on him and caused him to question that if one could wake-up while dreaming then why couldn’t one wake-up while living? Though still very young, philosophical thinking intrigued him and after making a strong connection with a high school teacher who was a Buddhist he started learning more about Buddhism. He only explored Buddhism superficially but always considered himself a Buddhist. But as time went on Narsimha focused less on philosophy and more on the political process. After traveling to Morocco and other countries his politics became very radical and he saw revolution as the only way to cure societies problems. After a few years of intense political activism he started to become disenchanted with worldly matters and began searching for spiritual way to eliminate suffering. Then on his 23rd birthday he took refuge and became a Buddhist. Since then he has practiced Buddhism and has directly seen the benefits of cultivation and also the negative consequences of not cultivating.
