The Xiuxing Institute of Taos Offers Dharma Listening Sessions

During the last week of May Venerable Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche, a close disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, visited Taos and presented dharma teachings to students from Salt Lake City, Twain Harte, California, and Taos. Rinpoche also conducted a Refuge Ceremony for those wishing to make a formal commitment to becoming a Buddhist.
This was her first visit to the Xiuxing Institute, newly established by Deb & Mike Jones. Xiuxing is a Chinese term meaning to look within and make corrections or improvements in one’s self; it is often translated as cultivation. The institute is dedicated to offering everyone opportunities to practice Xiuxing.
The Xiuxing Institute will offer English translations of essays, discourses and dharma teachings of H. H. Dorge Chang Buddha III for everyone interested in learning and studying the Dharma. There are no requirements to follow a particular lineage or even become a Buddhist in order to hear these translations. There are no fees, although donations will be accepted.
In addition to offering the translations the Xiuxing Institute also has a weekly discussion group to discuss His Holiness’s discourse, “What is Cultivation?”
