Classification of Tantras |
|
In Tibetan buddhism, the Tantras are typically divided into four categories: Kriya-yoga, Carya-yoga (charyayoga), Yoga-tantra, and Anuttarayoga-tantra. The Anuttarayagoga-tantra or "highest" tantras are further divided into "mother", "father," and "non-dual" tantras. The Nyingma school classifies the highest tantras as the "Three Inner Tantras" of Mahayoga, Anuyoga, and Atiyoga (Dzogchen).
