Dorje Chang Buddha Comes to New York City

September 29-30, 2008--New York City, New York: John M. Lundquist, the Chief Librarian of the Asian and Middle Eastern Division of the New York Public Library receives the book H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III from Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche for the Library's research division. He also received a copy for the Library's branch system that will be available for circulation. Dr. Lundquist is shown here opening one of the hand-printed volumes of the Tibetan canon for the delegation. This particular text was a terma that had been printed from wood blocks at Derge in eastern Tibet. The New York Public Library is one of the five largest libraries in the world and one of the first in the West to acquire the entire Tibetan Canon.

Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche presented the treasure book H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III at East-West Living on Fifth Avenue. She explained why and how His Holiness had come to America and introduced the basic principles contained in that book that can enable one to become enlightened in this lifetime. The rinpoche talked about the discourse given by His Holiness on "What Is Cultivation?" and how one must take responsibility for one's own evolution and spiritual development, although if one follows the correct dharma there will be blessings and empowerments from higher powers. Photos taken during the presentation displayed an amazing number of holy states. Dharma wheel mandalas have appeared at other locations, but not in the intensity and quantity that were present here. Twenty-five photos had at least one mandala on it and several had many. Some were quite subtle, but several were an intense green and/or pink. Very bright diamond shaped lights also appeared over the rinpoche in several of the photos as she presented the book and the teachings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha. Everyone present was blessed by not only hearing the precious dharma, but also by the presence of these holy phenomena. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche and Nanda (Glenn) Gauvry can be seen here presenting the book H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to East-West Living staff.
