Dorje Chang Buddha III Comes to Upstate New York

September 14-17, 2008--Upstate New York: The Dharma Propagation Team visited a number of monasteries, temples, and dharma centers in upstate New York including the Palyul Retreat Center, the North American headquarters and principle retreat center for H.H. Penor Rinpoche. They were fortunate to catch His Holiness before he returned to India after his summer teaching at the center.
When discussing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, H.H. Penor Rinpoche said: "Never in the history of Tibetan Buddhism has anyone claimed to be an incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha. Because this is the Dharma ending Age, it is good that such a high being has incarnated." H.H. Penor Rinpoche also said that such a holy being should manifest many magical and miraculous attributes. These qualities are well documented in the book H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. H.H. Penor Rinpoche is shown here with Khenpo Tenzin Norgey Rinpoche, the resident rinpoche at the retreat center.

The Team also visited beautiful Padma Samye Ling located on 500 acres of forests and meadows near Sidney Center. Padma Samye Ling (Inconceivable Lotus Land) is the main monastery and retreat center in the US for the Padmasambhava Buddhist Centers that were founded by the Khenpo Rinpoches, Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal and Ven. Khenchen Palden, under the direction of H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche.
The walls of the interior of the temple are covered with brightly colored murals that offer the traditional teachings such as the wheel of life
shown here and depictions of the life of the Buddha and the various Nyingma lineage holders and temples.
