His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche

H. E. Luding Khen Rinpoche is abbot of Ngor Ewan Choden Monastery in Uttranchal State in northern India at Maduwalla, Dehradun, the head monastery of hundreds of branch monasteries in the Ngor sub-sect of the Sakya Sect. The original Ngor Monastery in Tibet was founded in 1429 by Ngorchen Kunga Zangpo (1382-1457) who dreamed while the monastery was under construction that the collection of all dharma arises from the letters "E' and "Wam," thus the name. In 2000 H. E. Luding Khen Rinpoche was enthroned as the head of the Ngor Sub-sect, suceeding his uncle, H. E. Luding Khenchen Rinpoche, who retired from the position. His mother is H. E. Jetsun Chimey Luding, the older sister of H.H. Sakya Trizin.
