Ceremony at Hua Zang Si to Formally Receive Holy Book

An estimated thousand people filled the two Buddha Halls, the courtyard, and the street in front of Hua Zang Si to witness the very solem and impressive ceremony to recieve the precious holy book H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Prior to the event, Chinese acrobats and dancers performed a very intricate and dangerous show as snow lions. Drumers and other muscians accompanied the charming snow lions and a magical dragon, all of whom came to welcome the holy book and to honor the recognition of His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III. Three snow lions did prostrations to the Buddha.
Inside the temple, Tibetan horns and other musicians helped usher in the books that were carried in on a palanquin by lamas following a long procession of the seven types of disciples, who brought the eight offerings to the altar. Venerable Lajian II (Long Hui Shih), an abbess at the temple, and H.E. Venerable Denma Tsemang II both delivered discourses honoring His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III and explaining the significance of this holy event. His Eminence stated that this was the most important book in the history of Buddhism and explained how the leaders of Buddhist sects have recognized that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu is the greatest leader of Buddhism in the universe. He further stated that the book contained a discourse by His Holiness entitled "What Is Cultivation?" that provides a great path leading to liberation and happiness. After certificates of recognition were received from State Senator and Assistant President Pro Tempore Leland Yee and other local political leaders, Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche announced that the start of the Dharma Propagation Tour to introduce this precious book to America would soon begin and invited those present to participate in the fifty plus meetings that would be held in over thirty states across America.
Well-wishers sent flowers in honor of this most auspicious event.
