Dharma Propagation Tour Begins

July 6, 2008--West Hollywood, California: After spending a week distributing books in Southern California to temples, monasteries, universities, and dharma centers, the Dharma Propagation Tour-USA held its first public presentation at the Bodhi Tree Annex in West Hollywood. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche, the director of the tour, gave a lecture on who Dorje Chang Buddha is and why His coming to America is such an important event. When asked why now and why America, the rinpoche quoted the prophecy by Padmasambhava, an incarnated Buddha who brought Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century, who predicted that when “iron birds fly and horses run on wheels, the Tibetan people will be scattered like ants across the face of the earth and the teachings of the Buddha (dharma) will go to the land of the redman.” She stated that this "refers to the western world and that time has come."
