Bathing the Buddha at Hua Zang Si

April 26, 2009: Over 300 hundred practitioners, monks, and nuns filled the beautiful Mission District temple of Hua Zang Si for the annual celebration of the birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha and to participate in bathing the baby Buddha. The Sutras say that being able to bathe the Buddha with a sincere heart can result in the accumulation of incredible merit--enough to bless your ancestors for seven previous generations and your children and descendents for seven future generations. Such an act of devotion and dedication will bring about the blessings of the Buddha and result in good health, good fortune, and eliminate disasters as well as cause your wisdom to increase.
