July 17 - Harsha (Mike) Jones of the Xuixing Institute of Taos and Sharma (Thang) Vuong of the Xuanfa Center of Hanoi passed the examination to become Masters of Dharma Listening Sessions in Hong Kong.

April 10 - Ven. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche held a Meditation Workshop at The Yoga Center of Sonoma County, 300 South A Street, Santa Rosa, CA. The class was sponsored by the Buddha Nature Dharma Center of Santa Rosa.
April - Xuanfa Dharma Center of the Philippines established to propagate the Correct Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in Tagalog to those living in the Philippines and elsewhere.
April - "What is Cultivation?" is translated into Vietnamese by disciple Thắng Vương Vũ of Hanoi, Vietnam who is in the process of setting up the first Xuanfa Dharma Center in Asia.
March 28 - The Xuanfa Dharma Center of San Diego officially opened with an introductory class on meditation by Ven. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche. The center will hold classes every Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Tibetan Healing Center
March 6 - Xuanfa Dharma Center of San Gabriel Valley established at United International World Buddhism Association Headquarters in Monterey Park, California.
Febrary 20-21 - Ven. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche held classes at the Asheville Nectar Dharma Center and established an affiliate of the Xuanfa Institute there to provide Asheville with recordings of preliminary translations of discourses by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in English.

January 13 - The Xuanfa Dharma Center of Salt Lake City opened.
January 9 - Ven. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche gave a class on a sutra written by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III entited "A Monk Expounds the Absolute Truth to a Layperson" at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa. The class was sponsored by the Budha Nature Dharma Center of Santa Rosa.

August 1 to 2 - Dharma Assembly held in Hong Kong to certify 50 new acharyas and 1000 new Masters of Dharma-Listening Sessions.
July 23 - Disciple demonstrates ability to control body temperature.

April 25 - Class at Hua Zang Si by Ven. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche on essay by Lazhen on "The Dual Character of Buddhist Theories." The essay was given in response to H.H. Penor Rinpoche leaving this world and assesses the state of Buddhism in the world today.

April 11 to 13 - The International Buddhism Sangha Asociation Conducts Its First Ceremony to Confer the Title of Master of Dharma-Listening Sessions.
April 11 to 13 - Western students become Masters of Dharma-Listening Sessions after passing exam given by the International Buddhism Sangha Association at Hua Zang Si in San Francisco, California. New dharma centers established or in the process of being established by the Xuanfa Institute for Western students in Delaware, New Mexico, Nevada, California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Canada.
March 27 to 29 - Students visit Xuanfa Institute.
March 27 - Kyabje Drubwang Pema Norbu Rinpoche, also know as His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, a dharma king of the Nyingma sect, passed away in India.
March 6 to 7 - Dr. Pannavati-Khema of Hendersonville, NC received the Outstanding Woman in Buddhism 2009 Award in Bangkok, Thailand, where she gave one of the two keynote speeches for the event.
March 1 to 3 - Ven Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche visits Cambodia.
February 28 - Hua Zang Si gave a public presentation on the treasure book HH Dorje Chang Buddha III at the Koret Auditorium at the San Francisco Public Library, 100 Larkin Street, 94102 from 2-4 pm. Ven.Great Dharma Master Long Hui, Abbess of Hua Zang Si, was the keynote speaker.
February 12 to 17 - Dharma Propagation Mission Team continues tour through Hawaii.
January 4 to 25 - Zhaxi Zhuoma gave classes at Monterey Park reading the new translations of discourses 12-18 of the Buddha Master's 1995 trip to Taiwan.
