Father Francis V. Tiso

Father Tiso is Associate Director for the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, DC. He holds a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from Columbia University and Union Theological Seminary in New York City, with a dissertation on the evolution of the concept of the holy person (arhat, bodhisattva, and siddha) in Buddhism using Milarepa as his case study. He holds the M. Div. from Harvard University, Divinity School. He was ordained at the Diocese of Isernia-Venafro, Region of the Molise, Italy, in 1987.
